Winter has been a deceptively busy time!
I’ve been juggling my creative life and my part time job pretty intensely. Organisation has never been my strong point and 2016 has certainly pushed me to being the most organised I’ve ever been. Lots of list writing, using my diary and banging my head against the wall when I inevitably forget something. If anyone has any tips I’d love to hear about it in the comments below.
My Middle Aisle Macrame Wedding Arch is finished!
It’s taken me 9 weeks to complete this knotted beauty.
She is made from 100% Australian grown and manufactured cotton twisted rope. Full of texture and improvised patterns I couldn’t be happier with how she evolved.
If you would like to rent her for an event please feel free to get in touch. She is available with or without two freestanding white stands.
Her debut is in September, follow @middleaisle on Instagram for the behind the scenes photos! I’m enjoying the new ‘stories’ feature of Instagram to show little bits and pieces of my day. I like adding little videos, anytime the cats do something cute (which is quite often) you can see me madly trying to get my phone out of my bag or pocket to film them. haha.
I’ve just started a new macrame wedding arch for a private client using my 3 strand twist rope. It’s got a completely different texture to the thick twist and I’m really enjoying working with it. The 3 strand twist is made with a polished cotton so I’ll be able to get a beautiful fringed finish to it. It’s all about patience with macrame.
New weekly trips to the osteo are really helping to keep my neck and shoulders relaxed as I work through all this rope! Staying standing for long periods of knotting can be very hard on your body. I stretch throughout the process but my neck continues to get sore. I used to do yoga twice a week so I think I have to make the time to get back into it.
More Macrame Workshops are coming!
I’ll be listing new macrame wall hanging workshops soon for anyone keen to try their hand at making a wall hanger or a plant hanger. They will be at lots of different and exciting places! I got some beautiful reviews from the ladies that did my Workshop Melbourne class which made me feel very special.
If you have a group of friends that would like to do a class I’m always happy to do private classes and workshops! Check out this Hen’s party I did at the start of 2016.

Hi Maggie! This is beautiful – I’m trying to create something similar for my wedding but there is no way i can get it as detailed! How long were your ropes initially to get such a long length at the completion? Im struggling to work this out… Any help would be appreciated! 🙂
