Hello, Middle Aisle Macrame Family!
The last couple of months have flown by, I’ve been making lots and lots of Macrame and learning how to coordinate my creative Middle Aisle life with a part time job and everything else that life has on offer.
Every spare moment I have is spent on Middle Aisle. Making Macrame, teaching workshops, updating my Etsy store and posting out orders, sharing on Instagram and so many other little things that need to happen constantly!
I feel really passionate about what I do, it’s been such a pleasure to discover macrame and develop my craft.
I love teaching workshops and the 2017 dates will be announced very soon!
There will also be the option to pre-purchase them as presents for Christmas.
Setting Goals
Setting goals has been a really excellent way of figuring out what i’m doing when there isn’t a clear-cut path ahead.
I decided to apply for a Stall at Strawberry Fields festival this year and was super excited to be accepted!
I was even more thrilled when the festival organizers contacted me to run a workshop as part of the festival program. I’m in the midst of setting everything up and feeling all kinds of emotions.
It’s so scary doing something I’ve never done before. (I remember feeling this same kind of nervousness before my first Rose Street Artist Market.)
I’m trying to prepare as best I can and asking anyone I can for help. I have so many questions about what I should expect and trying to think of all the things I need to organize is getting very overwhelming!
I’m writing lots of lists and setting lots of little goals. I know that this is going to be an amazing experience and whatever I learn from it will be valuable. We learn by doing, and this year I have done more than I have ever done before!
Meet The Maker
I had a wonderful opportunity to sit down and chat with Suzie Haslam as part of her ‘The Makers’ film series. Suzie came to my home and filmed me talking about macrame and my creative process. I was very nervous to talk on camera, it’s not really something I’ve ever done! Getting to see the final film and hear myself talk was a really surreal experience. Suzie has done an absolutely beautiful job capturing my studio/dining room and I’m really excited to share the final film here. I’d love to hear what you think of the final film.

Have a lovely weekend and I’ll be posting here again very soon!
