Hello, Lovely people!
What an exciting start to the Macrame year! I’ve been flat out running workshops, making custom macrame wall hangings and starting a new business with Josh, my Fiance.
The workshops have been lots of fun and I’m always so proud of the beautiful work of my students. It’s been very special hosting them in my studio. Keeping the classes at a maximum of 8 people has been a great way to provide a high quality and intimate class. The size limitations of the studio have brought to light the restrictions of what I can and can’t do for Middle Aisle at the moment.
It put the idea in our heads that perhaps it was time to start looking for a bigger space to teach from! More news on that later but a big beautiful Melbourne Macrame workshop space is very much on the cards.
Want to Make a Booking?
If you would like to book into the last round of classes that will be taught prior to our move check out this link. There are still a couple of places left on the 12th of March and 26th of March morning special wall hanging class. They’re the last time I’ll be teaching classes in this format. Perfect for Macramé beginners and people who already have started teaching themselves.
Moving from the place we’re in now is going to be very bittersweet. When Josh and I moved in I said that I never wanted to leave. We negotiated a long lease so that we would be able to stay put and feel secure in our rental. After moving at least once a year for the past 8 years I was soooooo over packing my belongings into boxes.
The move we’re about to make is only about 500 meters down the road. I’ll still have to box my belongings up but I won’t have to book a truck! We’re planning a ‘fun’ day of carrying everything and thankfully some of our friends have already offered to help…
We’re going to have more space and a shop front. That’s right, a shop front. Josh and I are opening a shop.
What are we going to sell? Beautiful locally made things. I’m still in the process of contacting suppliers and asking them if they want to be part of the shop. If you know anyone who makes gorgeous ceramics, jewelry or other delightful things tell them to get in touch with me!
I’m really excited and nervous for this next part of our life. It’s a big change and something I’ve always wanted to do.
