Two of my very good friends recently got hitched and I was thrilled when they asked me to design their wedding stationary.
They both wanted something simple and that was in keeping with their venue at the Abbotsford Convent. I worked around a natural green pallet and used water colours in soft greens, blues, purples and yellows for a romantic and earthy feel. The bride wanted a floral touch but nothing too pretty.
The real hero was the amazing paper from KW Doggett we printed on. Textured stock instantly lifts designs into a more tactile and beautiful world. I would recommend this paper to anyone wanting to add an extra special touch. The difference in price from a standard stock was is really minimal.
We started with save the dates, then sent out formal invitations with RSVP card and wishing well note. For the wedding I also designed table numbers, customised menus and all those other special little signs you need for a wedding.
Wedding stationary is one of those lasting details that can be a simple or elaborate as you would like it to be. There are no rules about what you can and can’t do. Sending invites via email is becoming increasingly popular but there is always a whole range of nostalgia and celebration about receiving an invite in the post that you don’t quite get with email. My suggestion is always to do what you think is more reflective of your personality. I’m equally happy to help with designing digital or printed invites!
Custom wedding stationary is always going to be something special regardless of how it is delivered.
Planning a fancy gathering you would like custom stationary designed for? Send me an email today to chat, I’d love to help you spread the word.
